Health Care
City of Oulu schools offering Basic and Upper Secondary Education have Health Advice Centres with permanent or visiting school nurses and doctors. They make health check-ups regularly, monitor the children’s development and give advice on questions related to well-being and healthy lifestyle. Schools inform parents about the nurse and doctor’s reception hours.
Dental care is offered by City of Oulu dental care centres. Children are invited to dental check-ups until 15 years of age. If the mouth and teeth are healthy, check-ups are not required every year. Over 15-year-olds make their own appointments for check-ups. Dental care is free for under 18-year-olds.
